So I am still alive, I just have been working on something that's taking up alot of my time and trying to get stuff done when you have a sinus infection whilst trying to take no time off, means things are taking longer then planned.... But heres one of the cards I made this week, its the photo doesn't really do it justice, I went alittle cooky with the dimensionals as well which unfortunately you can't really tell in this pic ...
Anyway, thanks for stopping by!
I used of course Rose is a Rose, Bella Rose DSP, the big french script stamp which the name currently escapes me, Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss card stock and inks... Oh and Choco Chip ribbon, love that stuff!
I used Bella Rose DSP, Riding Hood Red Cardstock and the pink in colour that the name and the spelling of it escapes me, Chocolate Chip 5/8 ribbon and a brad from the Build a brads and also chocolate chip jumbo brads....
In August I started technique classes, and I was like, what should I put my instructions in so I ordered an Art Journal from Stampin up, wacked on some Bella Rose DSP and this is the result... Yum Yum!
I made this AGES ago, I just haven't gotten around to posting it, oops my bad!
I also used Riding Hood Red Cardstock and Kiwi Kiss Cardstock and ink....
I used the Calender Alphabet and Numbers stamp set, I love that font!
I was at a workshop last week and I thought I'd share with you this "blonde thing" I did. Thought everyone deserves a giggle on a saturday morning!
I was being a good little beaver and cleaning up my mess as I went, well I couldn't figure out why my Jumbo Wheel stamp wasn't cleaning and even though "what the ...." then was like hang on.... TAKE THE CARTRIDGE OUT BLONDIE!!!!!!!
I had soooooooooooooo much fun making this, I found the instructions on Splitcoast AGES ago, and part made it, then I "lost" it.... and I found it on the weekend and was determined to finish it.
I used Chocolate Chip DSP and cardstock, jumbo eyelets, vintage brads, the round label punch and the clear rinestones from the pretties kit, oh and the choco chip ribbon, although that has retired, I just had to use it!
Hope you like, thanks for stopping by! Oh and sorry for the BAD photo!
This is what Karen over at http://kgiron.blogspot.com tasked us... Check out all the others who entered here http://kgiron.blogspot.com/2009/08/sweet-sunday-sketch-challenge-29.html

It uses the new set from the upcoming mini Great Friend and Also Walk in the Park DSP!!!! Love, love, love that paper!
After playing with this today I decided to tweak what I was going to offer, so you'll have to wait till the 1st.
But don't worry, I'll have Dunedin Classes, Kits and even just a pdf if the people want!!!!
Have a great Sunday!
P.S Sooooooooooooo sorry for the blah photos!!!!! Stupid camera is broken!!!!
So this has been whats been keeping me AWAKE ALL WEEK! I'm all about making pretty cards, but also having pretty storage for those pretty cards...This is just a quick post to just show it off, and also because I need your help... I NEED A NAME!!! Well I don't, I have many... Your suggestions will be gratefully welcomed, and if I decide to go with one someone suggests I'll put a little somethin somethin for you in the post!
As always this class is available as a sit down class here in Dunedin, or as kit for those out of towners, and just as a head's up, when I have a name sorted out I have a little product bundle to offer everyone too!
I thought it was about time to re-introduce the once little Asha. A lovely little kitten who is now 6 months old who is truely deserving of her nickname, which can't be said on the blog, but its a two worded nickname first word starts with L the second with a B, I'm sure you can fill in the dots...
Anyway, for quite some time my partner has been telling me he has seen her carrying off my RE-INKERS and my WHEEL STAMPS, and I thought surely not... but yes it is true... I busted her in my little craft cupboard that holds all my little stuff yesterday! And I wake up to find my RIBBON all over the floor, cards destroyed and yesterday I spent the night chasing her around the house coz she had my SPONGES in her mouth...
Well I'm still on my roll, so here goes another challenge, I used Rose red, Pretty in Pink, Rose red DSP from last year and ALWAYS!!!!!! Yes, it's still one of my fav's and I havent used it in... FOREVER!!! Also threw in some En Francois' and Sanded stamps to boot...
Once again, stupid photo, I hope the postman comes with my CAMERA SOON!!!!!
I saw this card on Splitcoast AGES ago, and was like I love it, I must make it. SO, I did. Applogises to the talented lady who did the orginal, but I can't remember where on splitcoast I found it... The photo blows too, thats what happens when you take photos with your phone! But hey, my camera should be arriving in my last box of stuff from Wellington soon! Yay!Anyway, I used Urban O DSP, Going Grey c/s, Watercolour paper Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss re-inkers and Stazon Black and dimensionals and crimper...AND this is only like the third time I have watercoloured so I have to say I'm very proud....
If anyone out there know's how to get over the effects of Pleurisy let me know coz its like 7 weeks of feeling blah and I'm soooooooo totally over it!
Right now it's 1117pm and I'm off to bed, Nite nite!
Now don't all die of shock, Shelley has been a busy girl this weekend! So it seems I appear to be on a roll with challenges this week, so the latest Card is for this weeks Sweet Sunday!I used Sweet Stems stamp set and Tea Party paper with the inks that co ordinate with it! Aren't I a clever girl, all this while watching Grey's!
Check out the other entries here http://kgiron.blogspot.com/2009/06/sweet-sunday-sketch-challenge-23.html
This is the sketch... and this is what I came up with!
So this is my first go at a Inkspirations Sketch Challenge and I'm sooooo not a rooster girl, but I just had to give it a go and think "outside" what I'm used to. I'm very happy with how it turned out!
Recipe: Sahara Sand c/s and ink, Basic grey c/s and ink, Certainly Celery c/s and ink, Sanded block stamp and Rustic Rooster level 2 hostess set. I also used vintage brands, Jumbo Pewter Eyelets and Hemp twine.. Oh and I also got my crimper out! Me love crimper!!!!
So, I'm not at work today... No buses, and we had a few dramas this morning... And the news says don't go outside... So that means Snow day for me! and does that mean time for crafting? Yes it does!!!Here's the view from my house, and some of the kitten that is not so small anymore... My other cat Max is AWOL, he has never seen snow before so hopefully he is somewhere warm!
Check this little puppy out! This is my take on the Stationary Compendium, Kim Richards did a kit for us demo's awhile back and I just changed it up a bit... a couple of cm's bigger here and there and instead of a wee calender I made room for C6 Stampin' Up! Envelopes. Now if you're in Dunedin, and you are going "Wow I gota make me one of those!" Contact me for the details... email@example.com
This is my new favourite colours scheme, Black Urban Oasis DSP and Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon, YUM YUM!
This is for my "stamp set Spotlight" class for the month of June Come to a class and you get to make this cute little card wallet and some cards to go in it... If you pre-order or purchase "Trendy Trees" I'll give you a discount off the class price.
For more details about the Trendy Tree Spotlight class or any other classes email me on firstname.lastname@example.org
If my class timetable doesn't suit you, don't worry... I can come to you!
I found the instructions on an american site and had to "re-do" it so it would hold nz size C6 envelopes... anyone who knows me knows I have to change it because what good is a card holder if you can't fit stampin' up size envelopes in it!
These aren't my normal colours but I'm really happy with how it came out!
Recipe: Windsor Knot DSP, Old Olive C/s and ink, So Saffron Cardstock, Sage Shadow Cardstock and I also used my newest favouritest tools, the Eyelit Edge punch and crimper
Before I give my little rant on my card, I'd first like to give a small rant... about SNOW. Snow, pretty from a distance, not so pretty when you run out of fire wood and have moved from the Sunny, and Tropical Bay of Islands to Dunedin, down in the deep south and am still getting used to the COLD! Even the farmers I have been speaking with for my job were like, its too early for this (DOT DOT DOT) Anyway, while I wasn't walking around outside when it was snowing and depending on who you talk to it may have just been a heavy frost.... I still frooze my behind off... But then when I get into the air conditioned bus and I actually see the snow on the hills, I was like Wowwwwwwwwwwww Snow everyone who got on the bus would have been like who is this freak girl. End rant.
So anyone who comes visiting on my blog can pretty much guess 'Always' is my favourite... This card is only of the cards I had on display at the fundraiser I went to a week or so ago...
I just Not Quite Navy ink and c/s and Baja Breeze ink and paper and the linen thread and the Jumbo eyelits.... and deminsionals, not that you can tell from the photo though!
So this is the second lovely project I had on my stand at the fundraiser using the new Bird on a branch.... I tell you I really wasn't feeling this stamp set, but turns out it is super lovely! This project idea comes from Julie over at Paper Pleasing, and its a lovely idea, not only to fill with cards but anything, 'chocolate' was one of the most popular suggestions from friday night!
I used Vanilla and Not quite Navy c/s, the new Bella blue DSP, half round pearls from my pretties kit and Very Vanilla ribbon, oh and some brads out of the vintage pack... This project also uses the word window punch!
Now don't forget ladies from Dunedin, I am available to do workshops in your home, and I now have a table so can now do classes from my home! Contact me if you would like to know more!!
Yes, I am alive... I have just been AWOL for awhile, first with illness, then with adjusting to new job, then preparation for the local kindy fundraiser to which I had a stand. Hi Ladies!!!!!!
Take 1 is one of my favourite techniques I have done in awhile, I have always wanted to try it but it wasn't until the lovely Diane Bell-Robertson demo'd it at Reginals I thought yes I must go try that, so the very next day, out came Bird on a branch and this is what the result was!
I used Rose red, Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze inks and I really like how it turned out.
This is my first attempt at a Sweet Sunday sketch! But I'm happy with how it turned out, except my ribbon is a tad not straight!!!! I was on a mission to finish this card quick so I could hurry off to watch Greys!!!! Oh and Im overseeing Rice Pudding!!!!
And check it out!! I was first to post it to the site too!! Thats gota be a first!!
It uses the brand new Echo's of Kindess level 2 hostess set from the new catalogue and the retiring Brocade Basics DSP and Old Olive ribbon and ink....
I found this idea on Stevie's blog while blog hopping. I think it is a fantastic way to share our art! The first 5 people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice! For you. Could be a card I really am pleased with, an altered object or something else all together! My choice! This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! 2. What I create will be made with you in mind so you won't get something I already made unless I think it suits you to a T. 3. It'll be done sometime this year (I will want to get it done in the next month or so). 4. You have no clue what it's going to be. 5. The catch? Oh, the catch is you must offer this blog candy on your blog!
Re-post this on your blog, offer something you make - your choice - to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog (then come here and post). Add my name to the #1 slot on your card- I am your first participant.
When you create your give away, you will become the first participant on the new list for the people who participate with you.
The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment here telling me they did (I will go to your blog to check that you have this posted) win a handmade gift by me. Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!
SO ...................who will be the first 5 people????
Well my first week of work was awesome, once we got past the whole two Shelley's on the phones, both spelt differently and the fact theres a Sally Stewart as well... Can we cope? Within the first day Oh, yes I was just speaking with you! - no you werent! hahahaha...
Mojo Monday #77, better late then never!!!!
I used Rose Red DSP, and Rose Red and Regal Rose and Whisper White Cardstock, and I used a stamp from my almost favourite set of all time "Always" I really hope its in the new Catalogue!
This little cutie pie is Asha, we picked her up today! so cute, her and max, well, give it time!!! On top of getting a 9 week kitten all my stuff from wellington arrived this morning, so i am busy busy!
I have been wanting to do a Kwerner Colour challenge for awhile but am always lacking in the right colours, until now! and I thought why not combine it with the Mojo Monday 74# challenge! So thats what I did and this is the result!
I even tried watercolouring, just dont look TOOO close!
Recipe: Embrace Life stamp set, colours Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip!
